About
Software for the people who live in their footage
ReelBase is a media asset manager for video teams: a catalog, search, review and hand-off layer over the footage you already keep on your own storage.
What ReelBase is
ReelBase connects the footage on your NAS to the rest of your workflow. A small agent on your network makes lightweight proxies; your team logs, tags, searches, assembles selects and rough cuts in the browser; clients review through a link; and the finished lists go to Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, relinked to the originals.
It's a focused tool, not an editing application and not a cloud drive. It's meant to sit between the shoot and the edit and make that stretch faster and clearer.
Our vision
Every video team should be able to find any shot they've ever filmed, share it for feedback without friction, and get it into the edit cleanly — without giving up control of their media or changing the tools they already know.
Principles
How we build ReelBase
Your originals stay yours
Full-resolution footage stays on your storage. ReelBase works from proxies and metadata, and never uploads, modifies or deletes your source files.
Work with the tools editors already use
ReelBase hands off to Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve through standard formats and editor panels, instead of asking anyone to switch editors.
AI that's optional and transparent
Transcription, semantic search and auto-tagging are optional and switchable per clip. AI tags are kept apart from your team's tags, and Settings shows a cost estimate.
Honest about limits
We say plainly what isn't there yet — like a macOS agent or a multi-track timeline — and label plans as plans.
Bilingual by design
Every page of this site is available in English and Spanish, written for the way producers and editors actually talk in each language.
Security and accessibility
