Built for teams that shoot a lot and need to find it again
ReelBase is designed for video teams that keep their footage on shared storage and move it through logging, review and the edit. Here's how it fits the way different teams work.
Video production companies
- The challenge
- Years of shoots live on a NAS, named however each shoot was offloaded. Several editors need the same footage, and clients want to see cuts quickly — without a pile of emails.
- How ReelBase helps
- Ingest builds proxies and a searchable catalog without moving originals. Your team logs with a shared vocabulary, builds selects, sends review links, and hands off to Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve relinked to the originals.
Marketing & creative agencies
- The challenge
- Footage for many clients and brands has to stay separate, yet stay reusable for the next campaign. Approvals get stuck in email threads with vague, timestamp-free notes.
- How ReelBase helps
- Separate workspaces keep each library isolated with its own logo and storage quota. Account-free review links with passcodes and expiry give clients a clear place to comment on the frame and approve.

In-house corporate & industrial video teams
- The challenge
- A small team holds a growing archive of facility, product, training and event footage, and colleagues across the business keep asking for "that shot from last year."
- How ReelBase helps
- Tag categories and keyword, speech and meaning-based search make the archive findable. Stakeholders can review cuts from a link, and AI features can be switched off per clip if your policies require it.

Teams working across locations
- The challenge
- Footage is stored in one place, but the people who need it work in several. Copying media between sites is slow, and versions drift.
- How ReelBase helps
- Proxies on the ReelBase server let everyone browse, search and review the same library from a browser. You can register an ingest agent on each Windows machine that holds media, and clips are tracked by content, not path.
Editors & remote collaborators
- The challenge
- Freelance or remote editors can't reach the office NAS, and shipping drives back and forth costs days.
- How ReelBase helps
- Browse and pull selects from proxies anywhere, download a proxy .zip to cut offline, then relink to the originals with an FCPXML, FCP7 XML or EDL export when the edit comes back to the storage.
Clients & stakeholders who review
- The challenge
- Reviewers don't want another account to remember, and they struggle to describe exactly which moment needs a change.
- How ReelBase helps
- They open a link, play the cut, leave timestamped comments, draw on the frame, and mark it Approved or Needs changes. Your team replies in threads and resolves notes as they're done.

Honest fit check
Is ReelBase a fit today?
A few things to know before you book a demo, so there are no surprises.
- The ingest agent runs on Windows. macOS and Linux packaging is on the roadmap.
- The Edit tab is for selects and rough cuts — finishing happens in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve.
- The DaVinci Resolve panel requires Resolve Studio. Exports work without any panel.
- Access is invite-only: your admin adds each person, as an admin or a member.
